Lagoon Evaporation Systems: Accelerating Wastewater Reduction at Scale
Industrial lagoons and retention ponds represent one of the most common challenges across wastewater-intensive industries. Whether dealing with mining tailings, produced water from oil and gas operations, or municipal effluent holding ponds, the fundamental problem remains the same: water accumulates faster than it can be naturally or mechanically removed. At Evaporation King, we engineer lagoon evaporation systems that dramatically accelerate the rate of water elimination from these containment structures, turning a persistent liability into a manageable process. Our tagline says it simply: Wastewater Solved.
Natural evaporation rates depend entirely on climate, humidity, wind speed, and surface area. In arid regions, a lagoon might lose a fraction of an inch per day through passive evaporation alone, which rarely keeps pace with incoming volumes. Our enhanced evaporation equipment multiplies this natural rate by atomizing wastewater into an ultra-fine water vapor, exponentially increasing the surface area of water exposed to ambient air. This approach leverages thermodynamic principles without requiring the massive energy inputs associated with thermal distillation or mechanical vapor recompression systems.
“Water accumulates faster than it can be naturally removed. Our systems change that equation — multiplying natural evaporation rates by orders of magnitude.”
How Our Lagoon Evaporation Technology Works
We are a U.S. Florida and Colorado based designer, manufacturer, and global distributor of a proprietary line of evaporation equipment. Our Gladiator series enhanced evaporation equipment is purpose-built for lagoon deployment across Mining, Oil and Gas, Municipal, Chemical, and all other types of related industrial process wastewater verticals. The system draws water directly from the lagoon, pressurizes it, and propels it through high-speed atomization heads that fracture the water into microscopic droplets. These droplets evaporate rapidly due to their dramatically increased surface-area-to-volume ratio, effectively disappearing into the atmosphere before they can return to the lagoon surface.
What sets our atomization technology apart is the rotational speed and engineering tolerance of our systems. We are the only atomization system operating at the RPMs necessary to handle the most challenging liquids in industrial wastewater. Our equipment processes fluids with total dissolved solids concentrations ranging from 250,000 to 300,000 TDS, a threshold that would clog, corrode, or destroy competing equipment. The droplet spectra our machines produce are specifically calibrated to handle the highest dissolved solids content in the industry. The water vapor we create solves all of the pain points that facility operators face with traditional evaporation and disposal methods. Detailed specifications for our flagship model are available on the Gladiator 80 product page.
Applications Across Industries
Lagoon evaporation systems serve a remarkably diverse range of industries. In mining operations, tailings ponds containing heavy metals, sulfates, and process chemicals require continuous volume reduction to maintain regulatory compliance and prevent overflow. Oil and gas producers managing produced water lagoons face similar challenges, often in remote locations where trucking costs make traditional disposal economically punishing. Municipal wastewater facilities throughout the United States & globally use lagoon systems as secondary or tertiary treatment components, particularly where land application or discharge permits impose strict volume limitations.
We produce various models for high and lower-volume applications and distribute them through an international network of independent dealers, strategic partners, and distributors. This means operations throughout the United States & globally can access our technology with local support and service infrastructure. Our equipment serves the Mining, Energy, Food and Beverage, Bio and Pharma, Textile, and Waste Management industries, each presenting unique water chewater vaporry challenges that our systems are engineered to overcome. The way we fracture the water is very cost-effective compared to alternatives like deep well injection, off-site hauling, or thermal treatment.
Efficiency, Maintenance, and Long-Term Value
We offer the most efficient equipment with the least amount of maintenance in the enhanced evaporation category. This matters enormously for lagoon operators who need reliable, continuous performance in harsh environments. Key advantages of deploying our lagoon evaporation systems include:
The Future of Lagoon Management
Regulatory pressure on wastewater lagoons continues to intensify nationwide. Zero-liquid discharge mandates are expanding, and the costs associated with traditional disposal methods like deep well injection are climbing. Enhanced evaporation represents a growing segment of the industrial wastewater treatment market precisely because it addresses volume reduction directly without generating secondary waste streams. At Evaporation King, we are committed to advancing lagoon evaporation technology that keeps pace with these evolving demands, delivering reliable, high-performance solutions that transform how industries manage their most challenging wastewater volumes.
